    I am just a girl ~~

I am just a girl ~~  yep sitting here listening to music you guest it.  I am quiet bored right now nothing to do.  I have been looking around the net for anything that might catch my attention.  I went to fox, cnn and msnbc and needless to say these guys taking a subject and talk it to the ground.  They do not find the news anymore they just talk the shit out of it seriously.  I do watch the BBC they do actually talk about world news, not just the US's newest and greatfast tidbit of news.

Well I am off to read some stuff on the Daily Show and the Colbert Report and atlast these guys make me laugh about the news instead of getting bored.

My life and Hurrican Victims from Katrina and Rita

As many of you know I have been going through some difficult times in my life and with my health.  Even with all the pain I have been in, and losing so much weight from being ill.  I do count my blessings.  With Katrina & Rita I see people who are suffering worse than myself. It makes you see how good my life is even in the worst of times personally.   I can count my blessings, I still have a house, family and more.  Eventually I know I will get better and back on my feet.

Yet for so many in the south nothing compares to my small problems with my health.  Worst of all I feel so sad that I can not help them or be there to help. I have worked with the Government in EOC in Hawaii as well as  helped for over 15 years with the military in assisting families and working with the Red Cross with many of my duty assignments as a civilian.  I think this frustrates me the most for I am not healthy enough right now to do what sincerely what to do.

It's something I have missed when I left my work in Civil Service so much.  Why?  Not for the pat on the back and not for the recognition of doing my job.  It was for the personal fullfillment I felt each time I help another family or many in need.  To keep people safe when in harms way or making sure a family had enough food when their family member was deployed overseas. When you work in these positions not all were on a happy note though.  Reality was with working in the EOC or in many of my jobs there was the sad side too; that comes with the jog.  One of the the hardest job of working in these positions was also sending the message to the Red Cross there had been a death of a family member to their family.  Yet that to was a responsibility and part of what we had to do.

What means the most to me in my life?  The helping and caring of others.  For the feelings you get when you help another human being in this world is one of the most wornderful things you can feel in you heart.

I am still helping in my small way of donations and assistance with the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity.  Yet I still yearn to do more for all who are suffering from Katrina and Rita.  Yes I am slowly getting my health back and then I can do more of what I want to do and that is help in so many more ways.

Also I would like to say welcome to Las Vegas to all our new arrivals from New Orleans!

Talking about Thousands still wait to flee Orleans - Hurricane Katrina - MSNBC.com

My heart and prayers go out to all who are suffering from Hurrican Katrina.   I am also trying to find a friend and a family member in New Orleans.  A city I love dearly...  At this time I can only donate to a charity and here are some links to help victims of Katrina below.  To all the Victims of Katrina help is on the way and do not give up hope. Many of us are thinking,  praying for you  and giving all we can give.  Though I wish it could be quicker, easier and above all we American's and people world wide share in you suffering.

Also if you are looking for a family member or friend you can leave a message here http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9159961/

There is also a safe list of people set up by MSNBC.  You can check the safe list or tell your family or friends you are ok at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9159954/

For donations do be safe.  Most organizations do not solicit you by email or phone calls.  Contact them directly and do not send cash, check or credit card is safer.

For Las Vegas and surrounding areas check you local Televison stations for more information on how you can help.  Also KVBC is acception donations as well as other ways to help.

Talking about Chaos erupts amid New Orleans’ desperation - Hurricane Katrina - MSNBC.com

I see all the chaos and desperation of Mother Nature's wrath upon so many people.  I feel for them, I cry for them and I feel so helpless I can not help more then donate my time and money locally.  I loved New Orlean's and the people there were so very friendly and happy.  Now I see such sadness, death....There are ways to help and I will post more tomorrow.  This is the worse devastation to our country than any other in recent history.
